Data Deletion

Last updated November 1, 2026.

Horrac keeps your data in two places: on our servers (your Horrac account, and the background and scheduling features described in the Privacy Policy), and locally on your computer (Ostrel's own files). This page covers both.

Delete your Horrac account

The quickest way to remove everything from our servers. In Ostrel, choose Delete account from your profile menu (top right) or in Settings → Account; or sign in at horrac.com/account and choose Delete account. Either way, this:

  • Cancels any paid subscription immediately, before anything else is touched. If the cancellation fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
  • Deletes your account, your email address, every sign-in session (on every device and the website), and your credit balances.
  • Deletes the server-side data for every device you ever signed in on with that account: stored credentials, Channel Reports, content-anomaly history, alerts, tracked competitors and categories, synced app data, and scheduled posts.
  • Asks each connected platform to cancel Ostrel's access. If one doesn't confirm straight away, an encrypted copy of that platform's tokens is kept for up to about 15 hours, used only to try cancelling again, then deleted.

This can't be undone. A few things are kept, none of which identifies you:

  • the deleted account's random ID and the deletion date, for 90 days, so a payment made after deletion (for example in a checkout left open in another tab) can be recognised and cancelled;
  • a keyed hash of each computer that has had a free trial, so deleting and re-creating an account can't restart the trial;
  • Stripe's and Link's own records of past payments, for as long as the law requires them;
  • Cloudflare's point-in-time backups, which can hold deleted data for up to 30 days for disaster recovery only (see the Privacy Policy).

To also clear what is stored on your computer, see "Remove all local app data" below.

Signing out

Signing out in Ostrel removes its data from that computer. Your history stays on our servers with your Horrac account, your platforms stay connected, and posts you scheduled still go out, so everything is there when you sign back in. To end that too, tick Also disconnect my platforms in the sign-out confirmation: Ostrel then cancels its access to every platform and deletes that computer's server-side data.

If a signed-out computer's data has been kept for 180 days and your account no longer has an active plan or trial, we delete it automatically, the same way as signing out with that box ticked.

Disconnect every platform at once

Lost a computer, or signed out without disconnecting? Sign in at horrac.com/account and choose Disconnect all platforms. It cancels Ostrel's access to every platform on every computer linked to your account, including signed-out ones, and stops their background checks. Your reports and history stay; scheduled posts on those platforms won't go out. Instagram doesn't let apps cancel their own access, so remove Ostrel there yourself as described under "Revoking access from the platform's side" below.

Disconnect a single account

In Ostrel, open Settings, find the platform (YouTube, Twitch, Instagram or TikTok) and click Disconnect. This:

  • Deletes the stored access and refresh tokens for that platform, both on your device and on our servers.
  • Asks YouTube, Twitch or TikTok to cancel Ostrel's access to your account. Instagram doesn't offer this to apps, so to cancel it there too, remove Ostrel under Instagram's "Apps and websites" settings.
  • If the platform doesn't confirm the cancellation straight away, our servers keep an encrypted copy of the tokens for up to about 15 hours, used only to try cancelling again, then delete it. Ostrel tells you in Settings if it couldn't confirm, with a link to remove its access on the platform yourself.
  • Deletes the profile Ostrel had stored for it, on your device and on our servers.
  • Marks that platform as disconnected on our servers, so background checks stop running for it.
  • Deletes the measured facts and transcript facts about that platform's videos, and the links between those videos and your projections and Reviews (with their two-week and one-month results), on your device and on our servers, and the word fingerprints of its videos (kept only on your computer).

Disconnecting doesn't automatically delete that platform's stored Channel Report or content-anomaly history. Those are separate, deliberate actions: delete a Channel Report from the Monitor tab's Channel Report controls, and delete individual content-anomaly records from the Monitor tab's Content Anomaly panel. This keeps a disconnect (which you might do to temporarily pause a platform) distinct from actually discarding the analysis you've built up. For TikTok, Instagram and Twitch, disconnecting also keeps your follower-count history and posting-rhythm (cadence) profile, and for TikTok the matches between your TikToks and your YouTube or Instagram posts. Deleting your account removes them.

YouTube is different. YouTube's rules for apps only let Ostrel keep YouTube data while your account is connected. So 7 days after you disconnect YouTube, Ostrel deletes its YouTube data, on your device and on our servers: the Channel Report, content-anomaly history, analytics history, cached video details, measured and transcript facts, word fingerprints, and links with their results. Reconnect within those 7 days and nothing is lost.

Delete a Review

Deleting a Review from Review's History deletes, with it, the sound, picture and word fingerprints of its draft, or the picture summary of its thumbnail (kept only on your computer), its transcript facts, and its links to posted videos with their results and tip grades, on your device and on our servers.

We try to reach our servers when you disconnect, but this doesn't block or fail the local disconnect if we can't (for example, if you're offline). If you were offline, reconnecting later will re-sync the disconnected state to our servers.

Remove all local app data

Uninstalling Ostrel removes the app but leaves its data folder in place, so a reinstall can pick up where you left off. To remove everything Ostrel stored on your computer (connected accounts, cached metrics, settings, sign-in), close Ostrel and delete this folder:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Ostrel (paste that into the File Explorer address bar).

Request full server-side deletion

Uninstalling the app doesn't remove your server-side data (report history, credentials, scheduled-post records). Deleting your Horrac account, above, does that immediately. If you can't sign in any more, or want us to do it for you, email support@horrac.com with the request. We'll confirm your identity as needed and complete the deletion without undue delay and within one calendar month of your request, as required under UK GDPR. In practice, it's usually much sooner. If a request is unusually complex, we may need up to two further months; we'd tell you if that applied and why.

Revoking access from the platform's side

You can also revoke Ostrel's access directly from each platform, which invalidates the token even if you don't use the app's own Disconnect button. This stops Ostrel from using the connection. For Twitch, Instagram and TikTok it doesn't itself delete what Ostrel already stored; use Disconnect above, or the full-deletion request, for that.

For YouTube, it does: as soon as Ostrel sees that the access was removed, it disconnects YouTube, deletes the YouTube data on your device straight away and tells you in the app, and our servers delete their copy within 7 days.
